Base Plates

Large Custom Steel Base Plates, Machine Base Platforms, Machine Beds, and Machine Tables

PGI Steel custom builds base plate platforms and machine bases for customers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. These heavy duty machine bases and machined tables are all custom built to your specifications.

All customer designed, precision bases and steel tables are produced within the closest tolerances available from a precision machine shop. Experienced individuals, cross-trained in multiple phases across multiple departments help us achieve the overall  quality that you desire.

Our welders and steel fabricators spend time cross-training in our grinding and machining departments.

CNC Machined Base Plates

Whether you need machined holes, t-slots, grooves, slots, milled and rounded corners, or any other machined tool requirements, we operate four of the newest CNC Vertical Machining Centers on the market with a complete selection of cutting tools.

Additionally, we’re able to CNC mill, bar mill, and planar mill complex corners on these larger products. While offering some of the largest Blanchard grinding and Surface grinding services available in the southeast. We build custom bases of any size for large precision machines. With our single source solution approach, we minimize outsourcing and logistics costs and process your order in the most efficient and timely manner possible.

BUILT TO YOUR SPECIFICATIONS PGI Steel fabricates precision machined tables and steel platforms to customer CAD specifications. Our plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, and welding departments take pride in cutting material, dressing welds and assembling tables. After fabrication, we typically stress relieve the part in our 40,000# capacity car bottom furnace.  After the stress relieving process, we pre-grind the part on one of our Blanchard or reciprocating grinders. The part is then processed through our machine shop for drilling, tapping, counter-boring, slotting or other machine work specifications.  The final step is typically to either Blanchard or surface grind the part to obtain the highest flatness and parallelism requirements. Precision steel tables and bases have many applications, including use for certified testing equipment, robotic assembly line platforms, inspection tables, and precision machine shop tables and steel workbenches.
