Machining Aluminum

Machining aluminum parts is another specialty of PGI Steel. We make use of work-piece clamping and vacuum systems to enable us to perform machining aluminum and other non-magnetic parts with a high level of accuracy.  Among the aluminum parts that we can machine include aluminum extrusions, dial plates, index plates, molds, table tops and side frames.

Our  CNC vertical milling center from Johnford is an ultra-accurate 4-Axis (w/ right angle head attachment) CNC machine holding tolerance levels from +/- .0004.  Equipped with a forty capacity tool changer, our precision machining center can process small-sized, large-sized, small-quantity or large-quantity jobs with precision and speed. Quote requests and orders for precision machined parts come in a variety of quantities, shapes and sizes.  We can complete and deliver complex, larger and irregular shaped machined parts to you quickly.

CNC Machining at PGI Steel

Our Johnford milling machine can handle larger parts.  The travel capacity is 42 x 110 x 162, and the weight capacity is 26,400 pounds. This vertical milling machine supports large, thick machine bases, t-slotted bolster plates, and machine tables whether you need drilling, boring, counter sinking, reaming, tapping, key slots, t- slots, oil grooves, grease groves, machined profiles, beveling or a variety of other special machining.

Along with three Yama Seiki CNC machine centers that machine parts to as large as 31.5″ x 47″ x 78″, and a Takumi CNC machine center (30″ x 78″ x 125″), PGI Steel maintains (2) 84″ x 132″ horizontal boring mills allowing complete support for your large machining requirements.
