Steel Weldments
In our welding and fabrication department, steel tubing, beams, and/or pipes are welded into pre-engineered designs using stick, MIG or TIG welding processes. When manufacturing skids or platforms, sometimes we’ll attach and weld a Blanchard ground “table top” plate. Other times, frames are manufactured complete from plate ranging in thickness from 1/2″ – 4″ (called plate weldments), rather than from tubing.
Once pre-ground, we drill or otherwise machine these bottom-, top- and side-frame plates on a bar mill or on one of our large CNC machines. Finally, we send completed tables and fabrications onto one of our larger Blanchard Grinders for a “within-tolerance” ground, surface finish prior to a final inspection.
PGI Steel is unique in that we are a custom fabricator that can create Blanchard ground fabrications and large Blanchard ground weldments in-house! Having our own plate inventory, fabrication department, grinding and milling departments and inspection department, PGI is well equipped to create your custom weldments, assemblies and fabrications.
With 206″ x 109″ x 43″ CNC Machine capacity and 84″ x 144″ bar mill capacity, we can machine structural steel frames, table tops, and fabrications to over 20 feet in length. Our largest Blanchard can handle fabrications up to 45″ tall while reaching 128″ corner-to-corner swing.
Our largest CNC milling machine has a capacity of 44,000 lbs. and our (2) manual mills have a weight capacity of 40,000 lbs..
PGI Steel can also media blast and paint your custom weldment to specification. Our paint booth and painting tools used by our skilled paint technicians insure that your weldment is finished properly.
